Round up of the performances of Nigerian players on match day three in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, October 24.
At Anfield, Dominic Solanke was not in the Liverpool side that thrashed Red Star Belgrade 4-0. The England U21 star has not been involved in the 13 games played by The Reds across all competitions this term.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah (2) and Sadio Mane were on target for Jurgen Klopp's side who lead the way in Group C with six points.
In Group A, Dennis Bonaventure started for Club Brugge in their 1-1 draw with Monaco. The winger caught the eye in ninety minutes of action.
The two goals came in the first half, Moussa Sylla opening the scoring for the Ligue 1 team on 31 minutes before Wesley equalized with a header with six minutes remaining in the half.
Djibril Sidibe was yellow carded in the 43rd minute for a foul on Dennis. The Nigerian was later booked in the closing minutes just before he subbed out.
As expected, injured Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru sat out Galatasaray's goalless draw with Schalke 04 in a Group D fixture at Ali Sami Yen Spor Kompleksi Turk Telekom Stadyumu.
Still in the group, Chidozie Awaziem and Brian Idowu were non-playing substitutes for Porto and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively at RZD Arena (Moskva).
The Portuguese side led 2-0 through goals from Moussa Marega and Hector Herrera after 35 minutes, Anton Miranchuk halved the deficit on 38 minutes before Jesus Corona made it 3-1 shortly after the restart.
