N696 Million Per Year : Highest-Paid Nigerian Player In Major League Soccer Revealed

The Major League Soccer Players Association have updated their list of 2018 player salaries in the American topflight.
Of the eleven players eligible to represent Nigerian listed, FC Cincinnati's Fanendo Adi claimed the title of highest paid Nigerian player in the league with a total compensation of $1,933,33.33 (approximately N696 million) while his base salary is $1,275,000.00.
Adi's total compensation per season is 35 times the money earned by the least paid Nigerian in Major League Soccer, Atlanta United's Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu.
Former Queens Park Rangers captain Nedum Onuoha earns $219,000.00 every year and is the fifth highest earning Nigerian player behind Sporting Kansas City's Ike Opara, Montreal Impact's Quincy Amarikwa and Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Stephen.
The 18-year-old Ayo Akinola, who has been named in the latest USA U20 squad for the upcoming 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, is earning $140,504.00 from Toronto FC.
