Chelsea Loanee Aina Ahead Of Cracker In Soccer City: South Africa Have A Fantastic Team, They're Very Attacking
Published: October 27, 2018
Chelsea loanee Ola Aina has been previewing the upcoming 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between South Africa and Nigeria in Johannesburg's Soccer City on November 17, 2018.
Although Bafana Bafana are one of the two teams yet to concede a goal in the qualifiers, the other being Uganda, the Torino fullback has stressed that the South Africans are more dangerous in attack.
The FNB Stadium, Johannesburg, the venue of the match day five Group E AFCONQ, hosted the World Cup final in 2010 and it was at this same stadium where the Super Eagles won their third Africa Cup of Nations by beating Burkina Faso in February 2013.
''That’s another one I am looking forward to and can tick off my bucket list. It’s a great stadium as we saw in the World Cup in 2010,'' Aina told Chelsea's official website.
''South Africa have got a fantastic team, they’re also very attacking, so it should be a good test. I’m really looking forward to it if I get picked.''
Having narrowly missed out on the 2018 World Cup and pulling out of the Super Eagles team that beat Seychelles due to injury, Aina played in both legs of the AFCON qualifiers against Libya.
''I started on the bench for the first game, but had to come on early because of injury. I felt like I put in a decent performance.
''It’s never easy coming on from the bench like that, but I thought I did okay. Libya were a good side, but on the day we were just that bit better than them which showed in the 4-0 scoreline.
''The second game was a lot harder, we won 3-2. They fought really well but we managed to see it through and add more points to our total in the group,'' added Aina.

A former England U19 skipper, Aina has earned six caps for the Super Eagles since debuting against Zambia in October 2017.
