Standard Liege, Heerenveen, SD Eibar Battling For Spezia Forward Okereke
Published: October 31, 2018Italian Serie B club Spezia may bid farewell to Nigerian striker David Okereke when the January transfer window opens for business with several foreign teams interested in his signature.
Spezia offered the Football College Abuja product a new deal in August 2018 in order to fend off transfer interest from foreign clubs but this has not stopped his suitors from making fresh enquiries.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, citing Il Secolo XIX, Okereke is being targeted by Standard Liège, Heerenveen and La Liga club Eibar.
Responding to a question about the future of the Nigerian, sporting director of the Little Eagles, Guido Angelozzi said : ''I think this may be the decisive season for him and his career".
Okereke has been a crucial player for Spezia this season, having contributed to four goals in his first seven matches in the Italian second-tier.
He is contracted to Spezia until June 30, 2022 and previously played for Cosenza Calcio and USD Lavagnese 1919.
The 21-year-old is represented by Patrick Bastianelli who used to look after ex-Udinese striker Odion Ighalo on behalf of Atta Aneke.
