Marseille, Juventus, Villarreal Run The Rule Over Portuguese-Based Super Eagles Star Mikel
Published: November 05, 2018
French Ligue 1 club Marseille appear to be stepping up their interest in Mikel Agu if recent reports are anything to go by.
The Porto loanee had been linked with a transfer to the former European champions in the summer, only for the deal to fall through after he rejected a loan move and the Ligue 1 club were not prepared to meet the asking price for the Nigeria international.
The reliable Scouts In Attendance has informed that Marseille sent scouts to spy on Sporting Braga and Vitória Setúbal players during Sunday's Primeira Liga match at Estádio Municipal de Braga, without mentioning the identities of the players they were after.
Spanish La Liga side Villarreal as well as Italian champions Juventus also had scouts present.
Mikel is currently valued at £1.80 million by transfermarkt but in reality he should cost more than that as Porto are known for making profits from the sale of their players.
A product of BJ Foundation, the 25-year-old has spent time on loan at Club Brugge,Vitoria Setubal, Bursaspor and returned for a second spell with Vitoria Setubal in August.
The defensive midfielder played the full game against Sporting Braga and gave a good account of himself though his team lost 2-1.
