Official: Ex-England U21 Captain Onuoha Retained By Real Salt Lake; Super Eagles Star Released
Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake confirmed on Tuesday that Nigeria international Sunday Stephen will move onto pastures new in 2019, bringing an end to his his three-year association with the club.

RSL have declined the contract option on Sunny and ten other players and the Nigerian would be eligible for the 2018 Re-Entry Process if the club fail to reach a new agreement with the midfielder.

A former Spain U20 international, Sunny made 59 appearances for Real Salt Lake in the regular season during his time with the club, scoring one goal.

The 30-year-old has appeared for teams in six different countries : Nigeria, Spain, Israel, Bulgaria, Turkey, United States.

Former England U21 skipper Nedum Onuoha was one of the players listed on RSL's active roster ahead of the 2019 MLS season.

The central defender joined Real Salt Lake as a free agent in September 2018 and made a total of five appearances for the club of which four were starts.
