Chelsea Confirm Outgoing Transfers Of Brazilian, Belgian; Winger Leaves After Nine Years
Published: February 01, 2019
Chelsea confirmed two outgoing transfers on transfer deadline day, with Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi and Brazilian midfielder Lucas Piazon switching clubs on a temporary basis.
While Batshuayi has been recalled from an uneventful loan spell at Valencia and loaned to London club Crystal Palace, Piazon will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Chievo Verona.
Batshuayi had been heavily courted by Michael Emenalo's Monaco last month, only for the deal to fall through.
A product of Standard Liege, the former Marseille star spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he impressed with 9 goals in 14 games.
Lucas Piazon joined Chelsea in August 2011 and has taken in loan spells at Málaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading and Fulham since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, winger Charlie Wakefield has ended his association with Chelsea after penning a one-and-a-half year contract with Coventry City.
The 1998-born player joined Chelsea at the end of his Under-12 year.
