Danny Shittu Watches Flying Eagles Star Michael Vs Qatar; Aigbogun Hails Bologna Midfielder
Published: May 25, 2019
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Danny Shittu was at the Tychy Stadium, Tychy (see photo) to watch the Flying Eagles record a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Qatar at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland on Friday evening.
A top source close to Shittu has played down talk that the former Watford defender was on a scouting mission and insisted that he specially came to watch his client, Kingsley Michael.
It is known that Shittu has close links with English Premier League clubs and it is being speculated that he might be doing other duties apart from watching the Bologna loanee.
Several scouts representing unnamed European clubs plus the Polish Football Association President were also spotted at the stadium during the Nigeria U20s opening game.
Meanwhile, Flying Eagles boss Paul Aigbogun has labelled 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner Michael one of the talented players in his team.
He told sportdziennik.com : ''I have a group of talented helpers in the team. Kingsley Michael is one of them.
''Why is it only him from this winning team of 17-year-olds? Some are already close to the first team (Super Eagles). Others have already exceeded the age limit.''
Should the Flying Eagles beat the United States in their next Group D fixture on Monday, they will qualify for the last sixteen with a game to spare.
