Two Nigerian Strikers May Depart Premier League Clubs Just For One Reason
Published: May 30, 2019
It's every player's dream to feature for one of the best clubs in England's top-flight league but it's unfortunate that some players won't be able to achieve this dream.
Two Nigerian strikers Henry Onyekuru and Taiwo Awoniyi are part of the players who have high hopes of playing in the Premier League before the end of their respective careers.
Taiwo Awoniyi was close to achieving his childhood dream when he signed for Liverpool in 2015, hoping to get the needed paperwork as soon as possible.
Judging by transfer speculations surrounding both players, their inabilities to secure work permits could force them into joining clubs outside England next season.
Onyekuru is reportedly willing to sign a permanent deal with the Turkish Super Lig Champions, though, Bayern Munich are equally targeting a move for his services.
Taiwo Awoniyi, who spent this season with Royal Excel Mouscron in Belgium, is expected to return back to Anfield this summer but his future is clearly far from the club.
The Nigeria U23 international is a target for Bundesliga side Schalke and he is more than ready to dump his childhood dream for the sake of his career.
