Official : Aribo Offered New Deal By Charlton; Two Strikers Of Nigerian Descent Released
Published: May 31, 2019Newly promoted Championship club Charlton Athletic have unveiled their retained and released lists following the end of the 2018-2019 season.
Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo is one of four players offered new deals to remain at the Addicks.
The future of Aribo is up in the air with his contract set to run out at the end of next month and he has been linked with possible moves to teams in the English Premier League, Championship, German Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Portuguese Primeira Liga.
He joined Charlton Athletic from Staines Town in 2015 and has played 97 first-team matches, scoring 16 goals.
Meanwhile, Manchester United youth team product Nicky Ajose will leave the club following the expiration of his contract. The 27-year-old arrived the south-east London club from Swindon Town in 2016.
Charlton also confirmed that promising Nigerian striker Josh Umerah will leave the club when his contract expires next month.
