2019 U20 World Cup : Flying Eagles Face Senegal In Last Sixteen; To Train 1800 Hours Saturday
Published: June 01, 2019The Flying Eagles have discovered their opponents in the last sixteen of the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Their reward for finishing third in Group D is a meeting against Africa U20 vice-champions Senegal at the Lodz Stadium, Lodz on Monday, June 3.
The most recent match between the two nations was at the WAFU U20 Cup in December and the Flying Eagles were beaten 2-0.
While the Senegalese are unbeaten at the ongoing tournament in Poland with two wins and one draw, Nigeria lost 2-0 to the United States, played out a 1-1 draw with Ukraine and thrashed Qatar 4-0 in their group games.
Nigeria have reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA U20 World Cup six times while their next opponents have played in the quarterfinals only once, back in 2015.
The Flying Eagles are expected to arrive Lodz at 1300 hours on Saturday, June 1 and will hold a training session at 1800 hours after a press conference and stadium tour.
