Super Eagles Training : Rohr Monitoring The Fitness Of Ola Aina, Kalu Pre-Zimbabwe
Published: June 04, 2019Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr is monitoring the fitness of Chelsea wing-back Ola Aina and Bordeaux winger Samuel Kalu ahead of the national team's friendly against Zimbabwe on Saturday, June 8.
Aina struggled with injuries last season and missed five games played by the national team while Kalu managed to recover from a hamstring problem just before the season ended.
The former England U19 skipper has been training with the Super Eagles physiotherapist since the start of preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations and Kalu has been having brief sessions with the physio before joining the rest of the squad.
Coach Gernot Rohr has stressed that the two players don't have serious physical problems but he is being careful because of the injuries they suffered towards the end of the season.
Aina jogged with the team and did a little bit of ball work on Tuesday morning.
On another subject, Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo, Ahmed Musa, William Troost-Ekong and Abdullahi Shehu have not yet arrived in camp as the time of filing this report.
