Zimbabwe Coach Names Two Very Good Players In Super Eagles, Three Lessons He Learnt From Team
Published: June 09, 2019
Speaking at Saturday's post-match press conference, Zimbabwe national team coach Sunday Chidzambwa has picked Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel and Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi as two of the outstanding players in the Super Eagles ranks.
Chidzambwa believes the Super Eagles will qualify for the knockout rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations.
''There are very good players in the team, the likes of Iwobi, Mikel. They have youngsters, they have a very good team and they stand a chance in the final,'' he said.
''Both countries want to qualify. On our part we will try to get past the group stages, since we started this AFCON campaign we haven't gone past the group stages but we are going to try to get past the group stages.
''I think the Super Eagles are in an easier group, they are seeded too and with their play they will be able to go past the group stages.''

Chidzambwa has shared three lessons he learned from the Super Eagles in their goalless draw against the Warriors.
''I have learnt a lot of things from the Super Eagles, the best thing I learned was the way they support the ball carrier and the way they fall behind the ball, keeping possession. They were very good, I learnt something.''
The Super Eagles will do battle with Burundi, Guinea and Madagascar in Group B of the AFCON, while Zimbabwe tackle hosts Egypt, Uganda and DR Congo in Group A.
