'We Have Every Chance To Get Through' - Shrewsbury's Udoh Sends Message To Liverpool Stars
Published: January 26, 2020Ahead of the David vs Goliath Emirates FA Cup clash between Shrewsbury Town and Liverpool on Sunday evening, former Nigeria U17 invitee Daniel Udoh has refused to throw in the towel and is confident the Blues stand a chance of eliminating their illustrious opponents.
While Liverpool are recognised as the best team in the whole of Europe having won the 2019 Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup, Shrewsbury Town are the 60th ranked team in England.
Udoh, who trained with the Golden Eaglets ahead of the 2013 World Cup, is relishing the prospect of facing Liverpool stars such as Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Naby Keita.
"It is a good game for us to test ourselves against world class players, we have every chance to get through, it is the magic of the FA Cup," Udoh said to allnigeriasoccer.com.
"I just have to take it as every other game, I have to try to apply myself to do whatever I have to do for the team.
"I would have loved to face Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane but I don't think they are playing. I also want to face Naby Keita."
Udoh, 23, has been involved in every single game contested by Shrewsbury Town in 2020, five in total, and started the matches against Bristol City in the third round and third round replay of the FA Cup earlier this month.
