Victor Moses Helps Former Chelsea Star Romelu Lukaku Set New Serie A Record
Published: July 20, 2020
Former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku set a new Italian Serie A record as Inter Milan were held to a 2-2 draw by Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Sunday night.
According to the statisticians at OPTA, the Belgium international is the first player to score thirteen goals on the road in his first season in the history of the Serie A.
Having recovered from muscle injuries, Lukaku and Victor Moses entered the game as substitutes in the 67th minute as replacements for MartÃnez and Candreva respectively.
Steering defeat in the face with the scoreboard reading 2-1 Roma, Antonio Conte's side managed to earn a draw when Lukaku converted a penalty won by Moses.
Two minutes from time, Leonardo Spinazzola committed a clear foul on the Inter number 11 as he attempted to clear the ball and the referee pointed to the spot after a VAR check.
The former Nigeria international won a penalty for his side in his penultimate appearance for the Nerazzurri, a 6-0 hammering of Brescia on July 1.
