'They're Working, Improving' - Lacazette Describes Saka, Three Youngsters As The Future Of Arsenal
Published: July 22, 2020
Encomiums have continued to pour the way of Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka and other rising stars at the Emirates stadium with the latest coming from a senior teammate Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette who was the Gunners' Player of the Season winner in the previous campaign has scored just 12 goals in all competitions this season.
The Frenchman who has had to share his starting place with the young Eddie Nketiah spoke glowingly about the Anglo-Nigerian Saka and the other young talents coming through in an interview with Canal Plus as reported by French media outlet Get Football News.
Quizzed on Arsenal's young boys, Lacazette said : "They are very good youngsters, humble and working everyday. I think they are the future of the club because we know that these days clubs need their youngsters.
"They are working, improving – Saka and Martinelli have had very good first seasons. And Joe Willock and Reiss (Nelson) help us with the small playing time that they have, which makes it not always that easy for them."
Lacazette and Nketiah both started in the 1-0 defeat of Aston Villa while Saka also started at the Villa Park Tuesday night.
Arsenal's last league game of the 2019/2020 is against Watford on Sunday before an August 1 showdown with Chelsea in the final of the English FA Cup at Wembley stadium.
