Published: August 24, 2020
With a statement on their official website, English Premier League club Arsenal have confirmed that versatile Nigerian youngster Ryan Alebiosu has signed his first professional contract.
Seventeen days ago, allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported that the winger cum right back has ended speculation about his future by signing a pro deal with the Gunners.
Although the Emirates Stadium outfit have not disclosed the length of the deal, it can be reported with certainty that Alebiosu put pen to paper on a two-year contract, with Arsenal holding an option to extend by a further two years.
Born in Islington, Alebiosu played in the same age group as Bukayo Saka before the England U19 international was promoted to the first team.
The 18-year-old is expected to start the upcoming season with Arsenal U23 squad.
In 21 outings for Arsenal in the U18 Premier League since his debut, he has logged 1,064 minutes and has appearances under his belt in the FA Youth Cup, U18 Premier League Cup, Premier League 2 and Premier League International Cup.
