Man City Midfielder Beats Chelsea Striker Fiabema To Premier League 2 Player Of The Month
Published: November 17, 2020
Chelsea striker of Nigerian descent Bryan Fiabema has missed out on the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October 2020, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Manchester City midfielder Cole Palmer has been chosen by the Premier League Football Development Panel as the Player of the Month after Premier League 2 coaches picked out the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches last month.
Fiabema was earlier included on a shortlist of six players for the award, along with Palmer, Isaac Fletcher (Middlesbrough), Joe Hugill (Man Utd), Benjamin Mbunga-Kimpioka (Sunderland), and Rhys Williams (Liverpool).
Last month, the 17-year-old scored in all the three matches Chelsea contested in the Premier League 2, including against Arsenal and Liverpool.
And to cap a memorable month, the Norway youth international scored the game-winning goal that secured Chelsea a victory against Manchester United in the semifinal of the 2019-20 FA Youth Cup.
The former Tromso prospect scored his first official goal for a Chelsea team against West Ham in the U18 Premier League in September.
