Young Anglo-Nigerian striker, linked with Arsenal, Celtic and Rangers, training with Portsmouth
Published: July 04, 2021
According to reports in the English press, Arsenal, Glasgow Rangers and Celtic could miss out on the signature of promising Anglo-Nigerian striker Abdul Abdulmalik.
Londonnewsonline says Abdulmalik is training with League One club Portsmouth with a view to a transfer.
The 18-year-old ran out of contract at Millwall at the end of last month but they would be due compensation if he joins a new club as he is an U24 player and was offered a new contract.
Two years ago, another Nigeria-eligible teenager Samuel Edozie rejected a new deal at Millwall to join Premier League giants Manchester City, and it is believed that the Lions received a compensation of at least one million pounds.
Scouts from Arsenal and Rangers followed Abdulmalik closely last season,
and Swansea City saw an approach for the talented teenager turned
down by Millwall.
An England youth international, Abdulmalik is the cousin of Chelsea wonderkid Faustino Anjorin.
