Official : Chelsea confirm younger brother of 2021 Super Eagles invitee has signed new deal
Published: July 06, 2021
Through their official website, European champions Chelsea have announced their new intake of academy scholars for the 2021-2022 season.
Allnigeriasoccer.com exclusively reported twenty-five days ago that Richard Olise, the younger brother of Reading playmaker and 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise, agreed a scholarship deal with Chelsea which will be activated on July 1, 2021.
The Blues have now confirmed that the younger Olise is among the ten teenagers who signed scholarship forms with the club ahead of the new season.
Richard Olise has been at Chelsea since U9 level and is already familiar with the U18 Premier League having made his starting debut in the division against Brighton & Hove in March 2021.
He has been described by Chelsea's website as 'a very calm and composed right-sided defender who has the ability to both defend and attack, and has all the attributes of a modern-day full-back'.
This website understands that Olise's scholarship deal will be automatically upgraded to a professional contract when he turns seventeen years old.
