Three Man Utd products of Nigerian descent send messages to red-hot Greenwood after goal
Published: August 29, 2021
Three Manchester United academy products of Nigerian descent have sent messages to Mason Greenwood following his match-winning goal for the Red Devils against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday evening.
Noah Ohio and Deji Sotona who showcased their talents in the United academy before moving on to pastures new were delighted to see their former teammate find the back of the net.
Shola Shoretire, who has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Greenwood, noted that the Red Devils number 11 has been on fire.
Shoretire, Manchester United's current Young Player of the Year, has not figured for the first team this season but was involved in pre-season activities with the squad.
Greenwood has been in brilliant form since the start of the new Premier League season and his 80th minute strike today meant he has now scored in United's first three games, becoming the first teenager to do so for his team since Robbie Fowler for Liverpool in 1994-1995.
New signing from Real Madrid Raphaël Varane marked his United debut by providing the pass for Greenwood to net the match-winner.
A year and one day after the passing away of Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing Black Panther, Greenwood paid tribute to the late actor by crossing his arms in an x-shape as he celebrated his goal.
Greenwood posted on Instagram after the game, "wakanda forever ♾".
Here's how Sotona, Ohio and Shoretire responded to Greenwood's post :
Deji Sotona : "My broski 🙅🏾♂️"
Shola Shoretire : "🔥❤️".
Noah Ohio : "🔥🔥🔥".
Shola Shoretire : "🔥❤️".
