Chelsea legend Tore Andre Flo, 5 academy products hail Ugbo after debut goal for Genk
Published: August 30, 2021
Several Chelsea academy products including Fikayo Tomori, Tariq Uwakwe, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Dynel Simeu and Trevoh Chalobah have congratulated Super Eagles hopeful Ike Ugbo on scoring on his competitive debut for Racing Genk on Sunday evening.
Blues legend Tore Andre Flo, who is the current Chelsea loan player technical coach, was also delighted to see his former pupil find the back of the net five minutes into his debut against Anderlecht.
Ugbo took in loan spells at Barnsley, Milton Keynes Dons, Scunthorpe United, Roda JC and Cercle Brugge before sealing a permanent transfer to Genk last week.
The 22-year-old, who came off the bench to replace Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, tapped the ball in nicely after a defence-splitting pass from Kristian Thorstvedt in the 87th minute.
Ugbo is no stranger to the Belgian First Division A after a successful spell at Cercle Brugge during the 2020-2021 season.
After the game at the Cegeka Arena, the center forward took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and a teammate celebrating his match-winning strike and added, "Welcome back Ugz!😤 @krcgenkofficial".
Here's how Flo and the Chelsea academy products responded to Ugbo's post :

Trevoh Chalobah : "Looked at the time it was crunch 😤".
