In-form Chelsea fullback of Nigerian descent receives late call-up to England U18s
Published: September 01, 2021
Richard Olise, younger brother of 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise, has received a late call-up to England U18 squad for a five-day training camp in Wales.
Olise was handed his maiden call-up to the England U18s after Arsenal right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy withdrew from the squad due to injury.
The first year scholar has been in fine form since the start of the new season, helping Chelsea register three consecutive matches in the U18 Premier League.
Olise went the distance against West Brom and Tottenham Hotspur and most recently against Norwich City.
Described as a modern day fullback, he was previously involved with England at U16 level.
With the addition of Olise to the England U18 roster, it means eleven Nigeria-eligible youngsters were called up to the Young Lions for international matches in September 2021.
