Official : Chelsea announce temporary departure of Nigeria-eligible winger
Published: September 02, 2021
Through their official website, European champions Chelsea have announced the temporary departure of versatile Nigeria-eligible winger Faustino Anjorin to Lokomotiv Moscow.
The England youth international will be spending the remainder of the 2021-2022 campaign on loan at the Russian Premier League club with an option to buy inserted into the deal.
A graduate of Chelsea's academy, Anjorin made his professional debut in a Carabao Cup tie against Grimsby Town on 25 September 2019, coming off the bench to replace Pedro in the 67th minute.
The 19-year-old has gone on to make five appearances for the first team including debuts in the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup.
Anjorin trained with Chelsea's first team in pre-season but was not
involved in their first four competitive games of the new season and
has not figured for the U21 and U23 sides too.
Former Nigeria internationals James Obiorah and Victor Obinna represented Lokomotiv Moscow in the past.
