Nigeria underage international Tom Dele-Bashiru notched his first pair of goals for Reading in their 3-1 win over Peterborough United on Tuesday, an achievement that has seen him named to Whoscored's Championship Team of the Week.
The Watford loanee scored his first goal in Reading
colours when he drilled the ball into the bottom corner to double the
home team's advantage in the 67th minute.
Two minutes from time, the Manchester City academy product put the game to bed with a brilliant strike from 25 yards out.
It was a man-of-the-match performance from Dele-Bashiru, he was the top rated player in the Team of the Week at 9.2, placing first ahead of Fulham duo Aleksandar Mitrović (9.1) and Harry Wilson (9.0).
The former Flying Eagles star was deployed as one of the two central midfielders in a 4-4-2 formation.
In ninety minutes of action against Peterborough United, Dele-Bashiru registered a game-high five shots with four on target, completed a team-high three dribbles, made one key pass and won one foul for the Royals.
The 21-year-old was accurate in 86.7 percent of his passes, touched the ball 44 times and made one clearance.
Dele-Bashiru's first goal involvement for Reading was in a 3-3 draw against Queens Park Rangers in the penultimate round of matches in the English second-tier.
