Super Eagles striker hoping for more playing time after goal and assist for Feyenoord vs PSV
After impressing on his Eredivisie debut for Feyenoord, Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers is hoping for more playing time in upcoming matches.

The Racing Genk loanee made a great impact off the bench as the Rotterdam club thrashed PSV Eindhoven 4-0 at the Philips Stadion on Sunday, providing the assist for the third goal before wrapping up the scoring in stoppage time.

Dessers was concerned by his lack of playing time at Genk and fell further down the pecking order of strikers after the permanent signing of Ike Ugbo from Chelsea, so decided to go out on loan.

After three weeks or so at Feyenoord, the situation has not improved as the 26-year-old has not made his starting debut, logging 19 minutes in the two matches he has figured.

Speaking to ESPN via fr12.nl after the game versus PSV, Dessers explained : "I would like to play as much as possible, but we have several good players and the trainer is the boss.

"You have to take the moments like today, then you have to show something. I did that, but it is only the first match in the Eredivisie".

Dessers was the joint-top scorer in the Eredivisie with fifteen goals from 26 appearances in the 2019-2020 season.
