'Ovie is a wicked talent' - Chelsea loanee Drinkwater lavishes praise on 2013 Nigeria U17 invitee
Published: September 21, 2021Chelsea-owned midfielder Danny Drinkwater has lavished praise on 2013 Nigeria U17 invitee Ovie Ejaria following his man-of-the-match performance in Reading's 2-1 road win over Fulham.
A Premier League winner with Leicester City in 2016, Drinkwater has described Ejaria as a wicked talent and revealed that the former Arsenal and Liverpool starlet is a valuable asset to the Royals.
Ejaria sent an unstoppable shot past Paulo Gazzaniga to open the scoring at
minute 19, then gave Reading the buffer of two-goals when he
controlled the ball and slotted into the top corner in the 53rd minute.
On his debut for Reading, Drinkwater played alongside Ejaria for around 70 minutes after coming off the bench in the first half.
"I’ve watched the last two games and I was involved today. I can see the chemistry and it can only get better," Drinkwater was quoted as saying by Reading's official website post-match.
"Ovie is a wicked talent. I’ve only trained with him a bunch of times and today I played with him… if we can get him firing that will be a massive attribute for the club and our team."

An U20 World Cup winner with England in 2017, Ejaria has chosen to represent the Super Eagles at senior level and has applied to FIFA for a change of association.
