Ndidi in race against time to be fit to face Arsenal as Rohr reveals midfielder's potential return date
Published: October 02, 2021
Leicester City have been hit with the news that Wilfred Ndidi could miss almost all the matches to be played by the club in October, with Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr revealing that the holding midfielder faces at least four weeks on the sidelines.
Ndidi aggravated a hamstring injury last weekend against Burnley, thus he has been omitted from the Nigeria roster for their upcoming 2022 World Cup qualifying matches against Central African Republic.
"Ndidi is out for a month with a hamstring injury," Rohr told Punch Sports Extra.
"He will be missed for the games against Central Africa Republic but we expect him to make good return next month for the fixtures against Liberia and Cape Verde."

Based on the initial prognosis, Ndidi will miss at least seven games - five with Leicester City and two with the Super Eagles.
In the English Premier League, the Super Eagle will not be able to feature against Crystal Palace (Oct 2), Manchester United (Oct 16) and Brentford (Oct 24), in the League Cup he will be sidelined against Brighton & Hove (Oct 27) and when it comes to the Europa League he will not travel to the Russian capital for the match against Spartak Moscow on October 20.
Assuming Ndidi's rehabilitation goes according to plan, he could be in contention to be named in the matchday squad for the visit of Arsenal to the King Power Stadium on October 30.
The timing of Ndidi's injury is bad as Leicester City have struggled since the beginning of September, winning just one of their last six games in all competitions.
