'Great hold-up play' - Roberts praises Iheanacho for part he played in winning goal vs Brentford
Published: October 26, 2021
Leicester City icon Iwan Roberts has hailed Kelechi Iheanacho for the part he played in James Maddison's match-winning strike against Brentford in a Premier League clash on Sunday.
The Foxes are aiming to turn their season around, with three vitals points secured in consecutive matches against Manchester United, Spartak Moscow (Europa League) and Brentford.
Against the Bees, Maddison slotted in from close range after he was played in by the in-form Zambia international Patson Daka.
Roberts has praised the players involved in the build-up to the impressive team goal, including Iheanacho and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Analyzing the result during LCFC Radio’s Matchday Live coverage, Roberts said : "It's then just a well-worked team goal for the second.
"It's a simple one for James Maddison but the build-up play was a joy to see.
"Straight from Kasper Schmeichel’s hands, great hold-up play by [Kelechi] Iheanacho, good link-up and support from Tielemans."
Leicester City's top scorer in 2020-2021, Iheanacho has directly participated in 8 goals (3 goals, 5 assists) in thirteen outings this campaign.
