Nigeria's latest FIFA world ranking revealed ahead of 2022 WCQ playoff draw
Published: November 19, 2021Football governing body, Fifa, on Friday, November 19 published its latest rankings of National Teams ahead of the draw to determine the final African encounters in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifying competition, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Nigeria booked their place in the third round of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup along with Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, Morocco, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Egypt and Ghana.
The five winners of these third-round matches will progress to the World Cup next November.
The Super Eagles remain unchanged in the latest world rankings, they have a global ranking of 36th and remain the fifth best national team in Africa.
Completing the top five African nations are Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria.
Our three rivals in Group D of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in the shape of Egypt, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan are ranked 45th, 106th and 124th respectively.
The five highest-ranking teams in the world before the next update on December 23, 2021 are Belgium, Brazil, France, England and Argentina.
