Watford's brilliant number 25 wins two awards after pulling out of Nigeria's AFCON squad
Published: January 07, 2022
The official website of Watford has revealed the club's Player of the Month and Goal of the Month winner for December 2021.
Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis was voted Watford's Player of the Month by the club's supporters, approximately one week he was forced to withdraw from the Nigeria squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The brilliant number 25 was in imperious form for the Premier League strugglers last month, contributing three goals in four appearances in the top-flight, going the distance in all the matches with the exception of the defeat at Brentford.
Dennis has now clinched three Player of the Month accolades having won the awards for August and November.
The 24-year-old saw off competition from Moussa Sissoko, and Golden Girls Emma Beckett and Georgie Ferguson to win the Player of the Month.
He claimed the Goal of the Month prize, a reward for his brilliant effort against West Ham United on December 28.
Four minutes into the contest at Vicarage Road, Dennis fired a rising shot into the top corner to break the deadlock
after evading the challenge of Craig Dawson, taking his tally to eight goals in the process.
The Nigerian, who was triple nominated for the award, beat contributions from Cucho Hernández and Emma Beckett in the Goal of the Month poll.
