Transfermarkt has published the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Most Valuable XI ahead of the start of the tournament in Cameroon.
The German-based website that has footballing information such as statistics, transfer news and scores used the market value of players named on rosters to determine who deserves a spot in the team.
Only one player named in Nigeria's squad list for AFCON 2021 made the Dream Team, Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi who is valued at sixty million euros (approximately N28.17billion in Nigerian currency).
In a 4-2-3-1 formation, the Nigeria number 4 was handed a holding midfield role along with AC Milan's Ivory Coast star Franck Kessié.
Three other Premier League players made the Most Valuable XI with all of them playing for either Liverpool or Chelsea - Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), Sadio Mane (Senegal/Liverpool) and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (Senegal/Chelsea).
PSG duo Hakimi and Diallo are the most valuable right-back and left-back respectively at the AFCON and the other outfield positions are taken by central defenders Koulibaly and Tapsoba, attacking midfielder Hamed Junior Traorè and center forward Youssef En-Nesyri.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Most Valuable XI has a combined market value of €558 million with Salah the most expensive at €100m followed by Mane (€80m) and Hakimi (€70m).
