Super Eagles training : Eguavoen pays special attention to fringe players, Aina with physio, No Awaziem
After their second group game of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Eagles underwent a recovery session at VSTS-ANNEX, Roumde Adjia Stadium, Garoua on Sunday morning, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

The Super Eagles are still without Boavista loanee Chidozie Awaziem and the official word from team officials is that he is still nursing an ankle injury.

Ola Aina trained separately with the physiotherapist, an indication that the fullback picked up a knock during yesterday's clash against Sudan.

Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Iheanacho who were substituted in the 46th and 65th minute in yesterday's clash against Sudan trained without any discomfort and the same goes for Joe Aribo.

Manager Augustine Eguavoen divided the players into two groups with those that started the game taking part in a light training session handled by his assistant Joseph Yobo.

Unlike the previous recovery workout, after the win versus Egypt, Eguavoen didn't delegate the task of handling the fringe players in the squad to Paul Aigbogun, but personally drilled the players.

The 1994 AFCON winner hinted at giving game time to the fringe players in Wednesday's clash against Guinea-Bissau hence he has started paying special attention to the likes of Henry Onyekuru, Francis Uzoho, Tyronne Ebuehi and Frank Onyeka.
