Orlando Pirates star reveals exactly what Eguavoen told him before AFCON debut at right-back
Orlando Pirates star Olisa Ndah has once again spoken of his happiness at making his competitive debut for the Super Eagles at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Wearing the number 26 on the back of his jersey, Ndah entered the game as a substitute to replace Tyronne Ebuehi with fourteen minutes to go.

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that it was a premeditated substitution by Eguavoen and the coach's original plan was for Ndah to replace William Troost-Ekong to avoid the Watford defender picking up a red card or an injury before the round of sixteen clash.

Troost-Ekong, Super Eagles first choice central defender, had signaled for a change in the second half but Eguavoen decided otherwise.

Predominantly a central defender, Ndah admitted that he got instructions from Eguavoen on how to effectively play the right-back role just before he entered the pitch.

On how difficult it was to adapt to right-back, Ndah told NFF TV : "It wasn't difficult because going in the coach told me to do the basics.

"He told me how to move and everything so it wasn't really difficult for me although I have played it once or twice in training so it wasn't difficult."

The 24-year-old Ndah was a member of the Super Eagles B team that lost to Mexico in an international friendly staged in the United States in July 2021.
