AFCON 2021 : Musa admits Super Eagles' 100 percent wasn't good enough to beat Tunisia
Ahmed Musa has taken to social media to share his thoughts on the Super Eagles elimination from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations after a shock 1-0 loss to Tunisia.

Musa looked apprehensive as the cameras focused on the Super Eagles bench after Youssef Msakni had opened the scoring for the north Africans.

Manager Augustine Eguavoen made his fourth substitution by bringing on Musa as a replacement for Joe Aribo with two minutes remaining in the contest but the winger couldn't save the day.

Musa maintains the Super Eagles gave their maximum effort but it was not enough to secure a berth in the quarterfinals.

"In life, things wouldn't always go the way we want them to and that's something we have to accept however hard it is," Musa tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

"We gave our 100% & unfortunately that wasn't good enough to take us through.

"We won't give up,we will do better next time. Thanks for all your support and prayers."

The 29-year-old has totaled fourteen appearances at the Africa Cup of Nations, wearing the captain's armband in five of the eight matches he started.
