Maxi Oyedele helped Manchester United reach the FA Youth Cup final on Wednesday night after a 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford.
The Anglo-Nigerian central midfielder came off the bench to replace Mather with twenty seven minutes to go, while Italian-born defensive midfielder Temple Ojinnaka was a non-playing substitute for Wolves.
Shola Shoretire is eligible to feature in the FA Youth Cup but manager Travis Binnion resisted the temptation to name the talented winger in the matchday squad.
Manchester United's first team captain Harry Maguire and goalkeeper Dean Henderson were in attendance at Old Trafford to cheer on the academy stars, and they were joined by Director of Football John Murtough and Technical Director Darren Fletcher.
McNeill rounded the Wolves goalkeeper before providing a composed finish to open the scoring in the 16th minute.
Garnacho doubled the advantage just before the hour mark and McNeill, with his second of the game, wrapped up the scoring in the 89th minute.
