Guardiola runs the rule over 19yo Anglo-Nigerian winger final training session pre-Liverpool
Published: April 16, 2022
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola ran the rule over England U19 international of Nigerian descent Samuel Edozie in his team's final workout before their Emirates FA Cup semifinal clash with Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
It is confirmed that the 19-year-old winger has been named in Manchester City's provisional squad for the meeting with the Reds, having traveled with the first team to the English capital.
Edozie trained with the first teamers at Millwall's Stadium, The Den on Friday afternoon.
The pacy winger was back in familiar surroundings as he was on the books of Millwall before Manchester City signed him on a scholarship deal in July 2019.
He was an unused substitute during Manchester City's most recent game against La Liga side Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League and flew with the squad from Madrid to London on Thursday.
Edozie made his professional debut in City's first official match of the season, against Kelechi Iheanacho's Leicester City in the Community Shield back in August.
In total he has been called up for a first team game five times comprising two in the Champions League and one each in the Premier League, Carabao Cup and Community Shield.
