Flying Eagles-eligible midfielder pictured training with Arsenal first team pre-Chelsea
Published: April 19, 2022
Flying Eagles-eligible midfielder Miguel Azeez is in Arsenal's provisional squad for the Premier League match with Chelsea on Wednesday, April 20.
Arsenal have published the latest training images of their final workout before the trip to Stamford Bridge, and Azeez, an England U20 international born to a Spanish mother and Nigerian father, was in attendance at London Colney.
Unlike previous months, Azeez has not been promoted to first team training in recent weeks to make up the numbers or to simulate opponents.
Ghana captain for the March internationals against Nigeria, Thomas Partey is currently sidelined through injury and as a result Azeez has climbed up the pecking order of central midfielders at the Gunners.
The Hale End Academy product was a non-playing substitute in Arsenal's last two matches in the Premier League, against Brighton & Hove and Southampton.
Azeez will wear the number 38 at the back of his jersey, should he make his top-flight debut against Chelsea.
