Official : Man Utd announce new manager exactly five months after sacking of Solskjaer
Through their official website, Premier League giants Manchester United have confirmed the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Men's First Team Manager, subject to work visa requirements.

The Ajax Amsterdam coach has inked a three-year contract with effect from the end of the 2021-2022 season, with the option to extend the agreement for a further year.

Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino was heavily linked with the United job but Ten Hag has gotten the nod from the Board.

Ralf Rangnick was appointed interim boss at the end of November following the dismissal of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer exactly five months ago.

Speaking to the official website of Manchester United, Ten Hag stated : "It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.

"It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United".
