Crystal Palace sweat on fitness of Olise ahead of Leeds United clash
Published: April 23, 2022
Crystal Palace are sweating over the fitness of 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise before their Premier League meeting with Leeds United at Selhurst Park.
The France U21 international suffered an injury while on international duty last month but recovered in time for the FA Cup clash against his former club Chelsea at Wembley.
Olise suffered a relapse in the following game against Newcastle United, leading to his substitution five minutes to the end of the first half.
Eagles boss Patrick Vieira has released an update on the winger's fitness and there are doubts over whether he will be able to play against Leeds United.
In quotes relayed by Football. London, Vieira stated at Friday's pre-match press conference : "With Michael Olise - we were off yesterday and today, so we have to wait until tomorrow.
"But, yes, we took him off early in the [Newcastle] game as he wasn’t feeling 100 per cent."
Signed from Reading last summer, Olise has directly participated in twelve goals from twenty eight appearances in all competitions this season.
