England youth international of Nigerian descent helps Chelsea win FA Youth Girls Cup

Ashanti Akpan helped Chelsea youth team to win the FA Youth Girls Cup on Saturday, April 23.
The Blues U16s won the competition by thrashing Manchester City 3-0 in the showpiece staged at Loughborough University, with the England youth international of Nigerian descent in the thick of action.
Chelsea edged London rivals ArsenalĀ to advance to the final, while the Citizens defeated Sheffield United.
The Blues were two goals to the good at the end of the first half courtesy of strikes from Lola Nesbeth and Aimee Claypole.
Claypole put Chelsea in a commanding position when she grabbed her second of the afternoon just before the hour mark.
Akpan is the younger sister of former Chelsea right-back Ashley Akpan, currently on the books of Wisla Cracow in Poland after he was released by the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer of 2020.
