Arsenal eye two Serie A strikers as cheaper alternatives to Victor Osimhen
Published: May 02, 2022According to Area Napoli making reference to Fichajes, Arsenal are eyeing up moves for two strikers based in the Italian Serie A as cheaper alternatives to Victor Osimhen.
The Gunners are in the market for at least two strikers following the permanent
departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in the January
transfer window, while the futures of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie
Nketiah are up in the air with both out of contract in the summer.
Osimhen is a player of interest to Arsenal but he is just one of the players being considered to bolster their attack.
The stumbling block to a potential deal is his asking price, with Napoli valuing him at more than 100 million euros.
The two affordable options manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly considering are Roma striker Tammy Abraham and AC Milan's Portugal international Rafael Leão.
A product of the Chelsea academy, Abraham has a vast knowledge of the Premier League, making 89 appearances combined for the Blues and Swansea City, scoring 26 goals.
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in Osimhen and meeting the striker's valuation is a piece of cake for the Premier League giants.
