Shoretire misses out on Manchester United Goal of the Month to Ronaldo
Published: May 04, 2022
Anglo-Nigerian attacking midfielder Shola Shoretire has missed out on Manchester United's Goal of the Month award for April 2022 to Portugal superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The official website of the Red Devils informed on Wednesday that Ronaldo's free-kick winner against Norwich City has been voted as Manchester United's Goal of the Month for April.
This is the third month in a row that the number seven has won the Goal of the Month accolade.
Shoretire's acrobatic effort against Leicester City U23s was one of eleven goals shortlisted for the Goal of the Month but the youngster did not make the top five.
Ronaldo' three goals shortlisted, against Norwich City, Chelsea and Arsenal, came first, second and third respectively.
Fred's goal against the Foxes received five percent of the votes to place fourth and Ennis ranked fifth with two percent of the votes received.
There was a six-way tie for sixth place with Shoretire, Galton, Ennis (vs Wolves), Emeran, Mather and McNeill efforts receiving one percent of the votes each.
