Ralf Rangnick promotes Shoretire to first team training ahead of trip to Brighton & Hove
Published: May 05, 2022
Shola Shoretire was promoted to first team training by Manchester United's interim manager Ralf Rangnick ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Brighton & Hove at American Express Community Stadium.
Rangnick observed the England youth international of Nigerian descent during Wednesday's workout at Carrington Training Ground.
Shoretire has trained several times with the first team in recent weeks with United faced with an injury crisis in almost all departments.
Defender Luke Shaw (leg), midfielder Paul Pogba (calf) and winger Jadon Sancho (tonsillitis) are unlikely to feature for Manchester United again this season due to injuries.
With two matches to the end of the season, Shoretire has been called up for first team matches only twice, whereas the attacking midfielder was in the matchday squad nine times in the 2020-2021 campaign.
The current Manchester United Young Player of the Year dazzled in the Premier League 2, scoring six goals and registering eight assists to help the Old Trafford outfit finish fifth in the table.
It is obvious that Manchester United are set to miss out on Champions League football next season as they currently trail fourth-placed Arsenal by five points.
