UECL : Lookman reveals the one obvious advantage Roma have over Leicester City
Published: May 05, 2022
Leicester City's Nigeria international Ademola Lookman has highlighted that AS Roma being the home team will give them an edge in tonight's UEFA Europa Conference League semifinal, second leg clash at Stadio Olimpico in Rome, but stressed that the Foxes can get the job done.
The Foxes are condemned to win against the Giallorossi, bearing in mind that they were forced to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at the King Power Stadium last Thursday.
Five matches to the end of the Premier League season, Leicester City have almost given up on qualifying for next season's European competitions through their league position as they currently trail seventh-placed West Ham United by ten points, albeit they have two games in hand.
One of the reasons Leicester City reached the final four of the Europa Conference League is their away form, with victories against Randers and PSV Eindhoven on the road.
"We've shown in previous games when we've won away, like against PSV in the last game [that we can get the job done]," Lookman was quoted as saying by the official website of UEFA.
"Obviously the atmosphere will be an advantage for them but we're looking forward to the challenge. We're looking to win."
Lookman has been one of the creative players for Leicester City in the Europa Conference League, bagging assists against Randers and Rennes and his effort in the first leg which went down as own goal ensured they were back on level terms.
The 2017 U20 World Cup winner with England was on the bench in the Foxes's Premier League match with Spurs at the weekend and it could be a sign that he will be involved against AS Roma.
