Super Eagles target Billing and Solanke named in Championship Team of the Season
Published: May 10, 2022
There are two Nigeria-eligible representatives named to the EFL Championship Team of the Season following the conclusion of the 2021-2022 campaign.
Philip Billing and Dominic Solanke have made the ceremonial best XI after playing key roles to help Bournemouth secure a return to the English Premier League.
Two-cap Denmark international Billing, a player of interest to the Nigeria Football Federation, suited up 40 times in the second-tier and ended the campaign with double digits for goals (10) and assists (10).

One-cap England national teamer Solanke started every single game contested by the Cherries in the Championship - 46 in total - registering 29 goals while bagging seven assists.
This week, the Chelsea academy product picked up the Junior Cherries Player of the Season for 2021-2022.
Billing and Solanke were also included in the Football Manager Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season announced last month during the EFL Awards 2022.
Bournemouth were promoted to the Premier League after beating Nottingham Forest in a winner-takes-all clash in the penultimate round of matches in the division.
