Manchester United's Anglo-Nigerian midfielder called up to Poland U18 squad
Published: May 17, 2022Manchester United U18 star Maximillian Oyedele has received a call-up to Poland U18 side for a training camp and a friendly tournament in Slovenia.
Born in Manchester, the central midfielder is also eligible to represent the youth teams of England and Nigeria.
Oyedele is in line to add to his solitary international appearance when the White and Reds take on North Macedonia (June 1), Slovenia (June 7) and an unknown opponent (June 4).
The 17-year-old made his debut for Poland U18s in a friendly against Switzerland back in March 2022.
He had a successful season with Manchester United youth teams, helping the U18s win the FA Youth Cup and making his debuts in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2.
Oyedele totaled 32 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils youth teams in 2021-2022, scoring against Wolverhampton Wanderers (U18 Premier League Cup), Scunthorpe United (FA Youth Cup), Stoke City and Newcastle United (U18 Premier League).
He is eligible to represent Nigeria through his father and Poland through his mother.
