Villarreal name asking price for Aston Villa target Chukwueze, no formal offer from Real Madrid
Published: April 17, 2023Villarreal have named their asking price for Samuel Chukwueze amid speculation linking him with a departure from the Estadio de la Cerámica in the summer transfer window.
The inverted winger's performances for the Yellow Submarine this season have attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League, La Liga and Italian Serie A.
Aston Villa hold a concrete interest in the 23-year-old , with AC Milan and Real Madrid rumored to be potential suitors.
According to reporting by Spanish transfer market website Fichajes, interested clubs must meet Chukwueze's release clause.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner has a contract with Villarreal until June 30, 2024 but there is a release clause in his contract that would allow him leave in the summer for a fee of 80 million euros.
Per the report, reigning European champions Real Madrid have yet to make a formal offer for Chukwueze.
There has been significant speculation in recent days regarding a potential move to Los Blancos after his Man of the Match display against Carlo Ancelotti's team in the penultimate round of matches in the Spanish top-flight.
Given Chukwueze's astronomical price tag, it could prove difficult for the likes of Aston Villa and Real Madrid to get a deal over the line in the summer.
