Brentford set to sign Super Eagles-eligible player on permanent deal for fee of N12.1b
Published: April 18, 2023Brentford are set to sign SC Freiburg-owned Germany international of Nigerian descent Kevin Schade on a permanent deal, according to reports.
Schade initially joined the Bees on loan for the remainder of the 2022-2023 season with an option to buy included in the deal.
Barring any new development, Brentford will make the deal permanent for a club-record fee in the summer, with Schade expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
Brentford saw off competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool to sign the exciting winger who can also play as a center forward.
Since his arrival in England, the 21-year-old has appeared in twelve matches across all competitions and has bagged an assist.
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano revealed on Tuesday morning that Brentford have decided to make Schade's deal permanent for a fee of 24 million euros (approximately N12.1 billion in Nigerian currency).
Keane Lewis-Potter is Brentford's current most expensive signing, joining them from Hull City in July 2022 for an initial fee of £16million, which could rise to £20m with add-ons.
Schade, who is provisionally cap-tied to his country of birth Germany, made his senior debut in a friendly against Peru last month, but remains eligible to wear the colours of Nigeria.
