2023 Flying Eagles invitee trains with Arsenal first team after recovering from ankle injury
Published: April 19, 2023
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta promoted 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Joel Ideho to first team training on Wednesday ahead of his side's Premier League meeting with Southampton, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Arsenal legend Sol Campbell was a guest at the training session and watched on from the sidelines.
Ideho was not involved in the last four games contested by Arsenal's development squad in the Premier League 2 because he was recovering from an ankle injury.
As exclusively reported by this website eleven days ago, the winger suffered a training ground injury few days after the London derby with Crystal Palace.
He resumed team training on Tuesday, April 11, but the game against Brighton & Hove three days later came too soon for him.
Since joining Arsenal from Ajax Amsterdam, the winger has yet to make his professional debut but has trained with the first team on several occasions and was registered for the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
With Manchester City not in action this weekend due to their FA Cup commitments, the Gunners are aiming to extend their lead at the top to seven points, but Pep Guardiola's team will have two games in hand.
